Neck Stretches

These stretches should be used in consultation with your osteopath. Hold each position for approximately 12 to 15 seconds.These stretches should be used in consultation with your osteopath. Hold each position for approximately 12 to 15 seconds.

 Sidebending stretch. Lean your head over to the side until you feel the opposite side of your neck stretching.

Rotation stretch. Twist your head around to the side until you feel the stretch.

Stretch for the back of your neck. Tuck your chin right in and gently tilt your head forward.

 Next allow the whole head and neck to drop forwards. You should feel this stretch into the upper back.

 The extension stretch. With caution and only on advice from your osteopath, gently lean your head backwards.


 Lastly - lean your head over to the side, take a breath in and as you exhale, allow your head to drop forwards while maintaining the side bending.
